Client Testimonial Roof Restoration Wynnum West

We undertook a roof restoration for a tiled house in Wynnum West. The job also included the installation of some whirlybirds to help with ventilation in the roof.

“I’ve had a full roof restoration and install of some whirlybirds. I’m really happy with the service and workmanship by the team at JMZ. William made a great professional first impression. Nathan, Linc and Ben did a great job on the day, were pleasant to deal with and left the site clean and tidy. The girls in the office were lovely to deal with too – before, during and after the job. A minor issue noticed a couple of days later, but the guys were back out the same day they were notified and fixed it no fuss. Highly recommended.” – Kelly T.

Installing Whirlybirds

JMZ use and recommend Edmonds WindMaster, which is a wind driven turbine ventilator designed to exhaust heat and moisture from the roof space. They come in a kit form and are installed by removing several roof tiles or metal sheet cut outs and the whirlybird is installed as per manufacturers specifications.

Whirlybirds are optional and if requested, are installed and painted in with the roof during a roof restoration.

Why Install Whirlybirds?

Most homes can benefit from having whirlybirds installed as they are designed to remove heat and moisture in roof spaces be it a tiled, terracotta or metal roof. They are not suitable for homes that have exposed beams or ceiling cavities.

The best time to install them is at the same time as a roof restoration. Having whirlybirds installed at the time of other work eliminates the need for a return visit and the callout costs to install.

Whirlybirds are a cost-effective unit as they are a wind driven turbine ventilator that does not require electrical energy. For more information check out the Edmonds site here.

Choosing a roof colour isn’t just about what looks good. In Ipswich, it can also impact how hot your home gets, how long the coating lasts, and how well your roof handles storm season. So how do you pick the right colour — one that’s both beautiful and practical? Understanding Ipswich’s Climate and Its Impact on Colour Ipswich homes face a mix of harsh elements: Intense sunlight and UV radiation High summer heat - Seasonal storms and heavy rain Airborne dust and debris Dark roofs tend to absorb more heat, which can raise internal temperatures. They also fade faster under UV exposure. Lighter roofs reflect more sunlight, keeping your home cooler and helping the coating last longer. Popular Roof Colours in Ipswich Globalcote colour options for Ipswich homeowners: Surfmist: Bright, clean, and one of the highest for heat reflection Shale Grey: Modern and versatile with good solar performance Evening Haze: Soft and neutral with broad street appeal Dune: An earthy tone that blends well with older and newer homes Windspray: Subtle and stylish, suitable for various house styles All these colours are available in Globalcote’s Infracote (heat reflective) and Elastacote (flexible membrane) roof coating systems. Quick Answer: What Roof Colours Work Best in Ipswich? Lighter, UV-stable colours like Surfmist, Shale Grey, and Dune work best in Ipswich.
