We understand that you put your trust in our team when you enlist our help to replenish your roof and its surface. That’s why we complete every job with the utmost care and attentiveness.

Below we share more information about the tile roof restoration process and details of a restoration we carried out on Brisbane’s southside. Plus, see what the client said about working with our team.

Roof Restoration Calamvale
Recently our qualified and licensed tradespeople travelled to Brisbane’s southside to the suburb of Calamvale to complete a full roof restoration.

The roof, which was constructed from concrete tile, had been restored by another company 17 years earlier in 2004.

As roof coatings typically last for between 10-15 years – depending on the quality of the product – this task was well overdue. Is your roof in need of a restoration? Click here for 7 signs it’s time to add the task to your to-do list.

Our full roof restoration of this tile roof in the Brisbane suburb included a high-pressure clean of the surface, some minor repair works such as changing broken tiles, and re-bedding and repointing of ridge capping where needed.

The Products we apply during a Tile Roof Restoration
We also apply products which are developed by trusted Brisbane-based company Globalcote as part of the roof restoration process, including:

  1. Prepcote which sterilises the roof surface and inhibits the growth of mould and fungi.
  2. Primecote which seals the surface and promotes maximum adhesion of the membrane coatings.
  3. Globalcote Roof membranes, Infracote or Elastacote, in the colour of your choice.
This particular client selected Elastacote as their roof coating in the colour Iron Grey, which is equivalent to Colorbond’s shade Ironstone.

Our team also applied the Globalcote’s final protective top coat Clearcote which is designed to boost gloss and colour retention as well as increase UV resistance.

These products, along with our handiwork outstanding workmanship, were recognised by our client who said:

“Thank you for the excellent job your company did on my roof. I am very pleased with the outcome. Your workers were excellent, especially Jay, who toiled all day last Friday on his own and did a great job in preparing the roof for painting. We will certainly recommend JMZ to any of our friends who might be considering a roof restoration. The quality of the paint job completed on Monday and Tuesday is also excellent. All the best”

Are you wondering if we can restore a roof with solar panels? The simple answer is yes! In fact, it’s one the most frequently asked questions we get asked by homeowners. We explain more below. Can you restore a roof that has solar panels? When it comes to restoring a roof the has solar panels, there are two options. 1. Have them removed prior to the work and re-installed once the roof restoration is complete. 2. Have them covered with plastic and taped up. The roof is then restored but the area under the solar panels is not painted. We find the second option is the most common. Restoring a Roof with Solar Panels When our technicians restore a roof that has solar panels it doesn’t change the price. In terms of the process, the only other task we have to complete is cover up the panels with plastic prior to applying any coatings. IMPORTANT NOTE : JMZ Roof Restorations will not remove the panels prior to a restoration. If you wish to have them removed, you will need to contact an electrician or solar installation company. As part of our tile roof restoration process, our roofing professionals will replace broken, chipped or cracked tiles, but did you know we always opt for second-hand roof tiles? We are often asked why, and in this blog we reveal the main reasons. 2 Reasons JMZ Uses Second-Hand Roof Tiles During Restorations Reusing roof tiles can have many benefits, including that it puts old roof tiles that are still in great condition to good use, and stops them from ending up in landfill. Typically, if you only have a small number of tiles to replace, it will also be more affordable to use second-hand roof tiles than forking out for new ones. But that’s only the beginning. In addition to being better for the planet – and your wallet! – here are the two main reasons that JMZ Roof Restorations reuses roof tiles: 1. Difficult to match existing tiles Roof tile manufacturing companies continually change their profiles/shape of tiles over the years. That means you may actually have great difficulty finding new ones that match your existing tiles, depending on the age of the property. 2. Consistency Second-hand roof tiles are also used to ensure the gloss level is uniform across the roof. New tiles are generally glazed and can sometimes cause a patchy appearance when restoring a roof. Using second-hand tiles means we can often achieve a much better (more consistent) finish across the entire roof.

Roof Restoration in Cleveland, QLD We have staff based across the south-east corner of Queensland so we can service many suburbs, including Cleveland, easily and efficiently. Our team recently carried out a full roof restoration in the Redland City town to rejuvenate a concrete tile roof, which was about 22-years-old. As part of this process we replaced broken/cracked tiles, carried out a high-pressure clean of the surface, re-bedded and repointed ridge capping, and applied the high-quality roof membrane Infracote from Globalcote, in the colour gloss graphite. Our customer was so satisfied with our handiwork, they shared these thoughtful words with us:

If you want to boost the street appeal of your South East Queensland property and protect it from the elements, a house roof restoration is a superb starting point. And, if you have multiple dwellings or structures (i.e. house, granny flat, shed, or pool cabana) on the one block, having all roofs restored at the same time can provide an instant facelift. Many of our clients on larger blocks or in semi-rural parts of South East Queensland have more than one structure on their property. In these cases, it makes a lot of sense (from a cost and aesthetic point of view) to freshen up all roofs up at same time. During a JMZ roof restoration, a high pressure clean is carried out, along with minor repairs if needed. We then reseal the roof and coat it with premium acrylic roof membrane from Globalcote. Here’s a client case study that included several different structures in addition to the main house… Redland City Roof Restoration One homeowner in Redland City wanted his whole Thornlands property to shine not just the main residence, so we completed a full restoration to the metal roofs of the main residence, the back shed and the pool cabana. As the three (3) roof surfaces were restored simultaneously, the result was a sleek and seamless appearance (and none of the structures look out of place). Also, the surfaces should now age at a similar pace and the next time a freshen up is needed the surfaces can be rejuvenated concurrently again.
