What is roof restoration?

Are you wondering what is roof restoration and what it involves?

In our latest blog, the professionals at JMZ Roof Restorations aim to shed some light on the process and answer some frequently asked questions you might have.

What Is Roof Restoration

“Roof restoration” refers to the process for rejuvenating or reviving your roof.

It involves carrying out a thorough clean, minor repairs and painting. These steps not only make your roof look brand new but they will increase its lifespan.

We list other advantages of roof restorations in this blog here.

The exact process differs depending on which type of roof your house or business has.

Read about how we restore metal roofs here, and the steps we take to restore tile roofs here.

How Long Does Roof Restoration Take?

We typically allocate two days to each restoration.

On the first day our technicians carry out the high-pressure cleaning and any repairs which may be needed.

On the second day we seal and paint your roof, using coatings from Globalcote which are environmentally friendly and have been specifically formulated for the Australian climate.

Common Reasons You May Need A Roof Restoration

  • Age of roof: If your roof is more than 15 years old and never had a restoration then it’s a good idea to prioritise this.
  • Rust build-up on your metal roof.
  • Roof tiles are cracked or chipped.
  • Watermarks visible on the ceiling inside your home.
  • Holes in your roof.

Choosing a roof colour isn’t just about what looks good. In Ipswich, it can also impact how hot your home gets, how long the coating lasts, and how well your roof handles storm season. So how do you pick the right colour — one that’s both beautiful and practical? Understanding Ipswich’s Climate and Its Impact on Colour Ipswich homes face a mix of harsh elements: Intense sunlight and UV radiation High summer heat - Seasonal storms and heavy rain Airborne dust and debris Dark roofs tend to absorb more heat, which can raise internal temperatures. They also fade faster under UV exposure. Lighter roofs reflect more sunlight, keeping your home cooler and helping the coating last longer. Popular Roof Colours in Ipswich Globalcote colour options for Ipswich homeowners: Surfmist: Bright, clean, and one of the highest for heat reflection Shale Grey: Modern and versatile with good solar performance Evening Haze: Soft and neutral with broad street appeal Dune: An earthy tone that blends well with older and newer homes Windspray: Subtle and stylish, suitable for various house styles All these colours are available in Globalcote’s Infracote (heat reflective) and Elastacote (flexible membrane) roof coating systems. Quick Answer: What Roof Colours Work Best in Ipswich? Lighter, UV-stable colours like Surfmist, Shale Grey, and Dune work best in Ipswich.
