Working with Concrete Roof Tiles

There are many different roof surface types out there (metal, terracotta and other tiled surfaces) with concrete roof tiles the most common type used within the housing industry. This is because they are cost effective and durable.

We use and recommend Globalcote roof membrane coatings on roof surfaces during our restoration work as they are designed to protect a roof surface over time and are also adaptable to hot and cold weather conditions.

Concrete Tile Roof Restoration Process

  • Site Preparation – we start the process by diverting water away from council storm water drains so we comply with council regulations.
  • Changing Broken Roof Tiles – if we find any broken, chipped or cracked tiles, these are replaced.
  • High Pressure Cleaning of Roof Surface – the roof is cleaned to remove any excess dirt, grime and other contaminates.
  • Rebedding of Ridgecapping where required.
  • Repointing of all Ridgecapping – we use Globalcote’s Flexible Pointing to secure ridgecaps to the roof.
  • Application of Globalcote “Primecote” – this is a sealer used to provide maximum adhesion for the roof membrane.
  • Application of 2 coats of Globalcote Roof Membrane.

Client Testimonial Roof Painting

“It’s always a risk to hand over money to anyone for projects at your home. In several cases, I have found unprofessional service, people don’t do what they say they will and I’m left with substandard workmanship. I had some bad experiences with the last paver and aircon installer. Well, I’m very happy to say none of the above applied to the work that JMZ did at my house. They were professional in their communications before, during and after the job. They delivered exactly what they promised and so far we have not had any issues with the newly painted roof. I would highly recommend them for roofing restorations!” – Leon B.

Choosing a roof colour isn’t just about what looks good. In Ipswich, it can also impact how hot your home gets, how long the coating lasts, and how well your roof handles storm season. So how do you pick the right colour — one that’s both beautiful and practical? Understanding Ipswich’s Climate and Its Impact on Colour Ipswich homes face a mix of harsh elements: Intense sunlight and UV radiation High summer heat - Seasonal storms and heavy rain Airborne dust and debris Dark roofs tend to absorb more heat, which can raise internal temperatures. They also fade faster under UV exposure. Lighter roofs reflect more sunlight, keeping your home cooler and helping the coating last longer. Popular Roof Colours in Ipswich Globalcote colour options for Ipswich homeowners: Surfmist: Bright, clean, and one of the highest for heat reflection Shale Grey: Modern and versatile with good solar performance Evening Haze: Soft and neutral with broad street appeal Dune: An earthy tone that blends well with older and newer homes Windspray: Subtle and stylish, suitable for various house styles All these colours are available in Globalcote’s Infracote (heat reflective) and Elastacote (flexible membrane) roof coating systems.
